Genre: Tropi-Dream Pop

Album Review: I suspected this was a solo project. Because everything about it feels alone. Like she sat in one room all afternoon and played with keyboards and reverbs and loop pedals. Even the echo of the room is in there. The album is sort of light jungle island pop you'd listen to at dusk alone on a beach. It makes me want to walk really slowly through a luau where I don't know anyone and be a little melancholy for not knowing anyone. There's a deceiving lightness in the music. An end of summer sound. A feeling I forgot my sweatshirt and the beach is about to get cold. ~ words by James

Where was this song during the hot summer months spent on the beach? The new album Other Worlds (out Oct. 2nd) can not come soon enough! I think Other Worlds just became my most anticaped album of the Fall. ENjO!

Taken By Trees info: I can't tell you how excited I am for the new album by Taken By Trees. I know its going to be amazing. ENjO! the first track "Dreams" off the upcoming Other Worlds is due out October 2nd.

 Victoria Bergsman recalls the inspiration behind "Dreams":

 I hardly remember my dreams these days. Sometimes, if I am lucky and I wake up very late, I find a thin film of another time or another life. I try so desperately capture this residue of a dream that it quickly fades.

But the kind of dream I am referring to in this song is more like a sense of longing, a vision of a place where things are quiet, like floating in the ocean off of Hawaii. I find that very hard, feeling at peace, feeling that things are OK just as they are. In the past I always feared that calm would lead to laziness, but now I see it more as a strength, something I want to achieve. The album is very much about that … and about finding love. It’s a feel good album.
