    ROMANCE TEEPEE MOLESKIN

Its been a while since I posted a Moleskin drawing but I have been getting back into the swing of things and have started drawing on my train ride home. I did the teepee (in your face Felipe) and also found the image. Maris Turner did the genius drawing over it. The whole scene makes me laugh every time I see it. Enjoi!

    FLASH DANCER

Not a whole lot to say about this one except that it took a lot of planning. I marker transfered the dancer and then sketched out where I wanted to have the noodles go knowing ahead of time that I wanted them to interact with the neon prisms. I might go and buy a white out pen so I can fill the noodles in and give them more punch. What do you guys think?

    WHO LET THE NOODLES OUT?

I may claim this drawing/doodle/collage to be one of my weirdest to dates. Look at it up close to see how the noodles like to meander in and out of all the sexy people pictures. I think noodles have become my favorite design element to draw. They may even beat out diamonds, mustaches and tears...but just barely. Maybe I will do a drawing with all of them.
    Maybe not.

    LET'S GO WINDSURF-ING

Just another creepy moleskin drawing. They usually tend to come out every Sunday night.
I really suck at drawing hands, but maybe I will be better at tentacles. I was actually listening to the band WINDSURF while dawing this. The music makes me feel like I am the cool kid in high school in the 80's. I live in Miami and all the chicks want me cause I am really good at...rollerskating (that's what you call a literary twist). Enjoi!

    WIZARD'S BEARD

I have been doodling this strange line work for a few weeks so I thought I would do a more formal drawing of it and give it a spot in the old moleskin. I think I drew it because I am jealous of dudes that can grow a beard. After a few months of trying, I know now that it isn't in my future and a wizard would never see it in his crystal ball.

Sorry for the lack of art related posts lately. I haven't felt very inspired as of late to doodle in the moleskin or finish of one of the many paintings I have started. Maybe I will finish up a drawing I did that was based off trying to draw Falcor from memory. I didn't really work, and it ended up looking like a evil poodle with a Hitler stache. I called him Foulcore - the bad luck dragon. Enjoi!

    MORE MOLESKIN

So I photocopy transfered this bust into my moleskin months ago and never really knew quite what to do with it. This was my solution. The bust came from an old magazine ad for Marlboro cigarettes. I guess subconsciously, I was making a statement on cigarettes (circa 1980). To sum up what I mean, the bust and sun burst pattern represent cigarettes once being considered sexy or cool, glorified by the media in some way or another. But under that facade, lies a silent killer... yeah you guessed it the lasers and I guess the stache, because all staches are killer.

I am glad that the view on cigarettes has changed. Many more laws have been passed to ban smoking in public places. One of my biggest pet peaves is going to a public place and coming back reeking of cigs. And another would be getting stuck behind somebody that is walking extremely slow, but that's a completely different post.

In the end this post post is 1/2 reaction to a friend saying that my blog wasn't political/controversial enough and 1/2 just wanting to make something cool. Plus, lasers and mustachios are the perfect combo. Enjoi! And please feel free to post a comment. Comments are like white tigers to me. AMAZING!
EDIT: While searching for white tiger pictures I came across this image of a... odd looking white tiger.

    KING'S QUEST VIII

So I did this sketch late Sunday night. I'm not really sure why I drew what I did, but it made me feel awesome after I finished. Hopefully you like it.

    THUG LIFE

I think this could be one of my best narrative/figure drawings I have ever done. I normally don't like to draw people because I tend to have a problem drawing the area between the nose and the lips. So I just draw staches on everything. Animals too! But I wanted to do a montage of themes from 80's thug culture. Silk shirts, neon stripes, balla' necklaces, white suits, tank tops, track pants and last but not least... gotta have my K-Swiss. Enjoi!

    AND AGAIN, MORE MOLESKIN

Page 1 was done by my friend Mike Laughead (lawhead not laugh head) during Thanksgiving last year. Page 3 was also a collaboration between Mike and his brother-in-law Tenbu. Page 2 and 4 were done by myself. I still have a few more left to post before I am caught up with the good ones. I really need to start drawing again, I am anxious to fill the thing up and start on a new one.

    INUIT/NORTHWEST PACIFC INDIAN ART

Inspiration comes from strange places but the last time I really felt inspired came from a recent trip to Chicago. I met up with my Dad who was there to do business at a candy trade show. We hauled in a ton of candy one day and the other days spent roaming around Chicago. We ended up going to the Field Museum and I totally fell in love with the Eskimo/Indian exhibit. Everything about the art from that culture speaks to me. Especially the totem poles.

Since my trip, I have been tinkering around with mixing elements of Indian style with my own. Here is a moleskin sketch I did of a creepy totem pole; mustache and all. I am still refining it before I take it to a larger scale on canvas, but I will keep you guys posted on how it's going. Enjoi!
