This band reminds me of Tune Yards meets Local Natives. It's DIY tropical psych-pop that's sugary sweet without sounding too cutesy. ENjO!
Have you ever gone to bed thinking tomorrow will be a new day chalk full of new beginnings and opportunity only to wake up to more of the same? This theme occurred to Max Greenhalgh (AKA the Eyelid Kid) when developing a moniker for his music. “The name of the band was formed around the concept of feeling completely inspired to take hold of life and be the best person you can be the next day before going to bed,” says Greenhalgh. “Then waking up as to reset those aspirations with normalized motivation and just more of the same. I’ve been an insomniac for the last three years or so. Therefore I’d spend countless nights unintentionally staying awake in a subconscious effort to keep the inspiration alive.” Inspired and the Sleep is an ever revolving project of solo lo-fi recordings constantly in the works as well as a live band translation in a different vein coming from San Diego, CA including the Eyelid Kid on bass and vocals, Hayden Stewart (drums), and Bryce Outcault (Guitar, Keys). All three work together as beach lifeguards giving their music a oceanic tinge complimented by angular grooves and crisp melody. - Facebook bio
