This is when TalkFine release their debut album Lesser Known Hits.This band can do no wrong in my mind. Even when they slow things down, they still get me groovin'. This song has less of a TGIF theme songs vibe (which I mean in the best way possible, cause TGIF meant you were about to have a good time) and more of a Stevie Wonder vibe as Pasta Primavera put it. Lesser Known Hits has the potential of becoming my favorite album of 2012 and I've only heard 3 songs. Please don't let me down TalkFine. And please oh please, play some shows in Brooklyn soon!

From humble beginnings in a dorm room at Southern Illinois' Greenville College, RAC (aka André Allen Anjos) has steadily grown a dedicated dance music fan base with methodical and catchy remixes that stay true to the original songs. In "Hollywood (featuring Penguin Prison)", fans have the opportunity to hear the very first track that RAC created from scratch. With a chorus that you can't forget and strong vocals from Penguin Prison's Chris Glover, the track is the perfect debut from Anjos.

Another post tonight about a band that reminds me of Metronomy. Yet, Cymbals manage to infuse the pop funk sensibilities from Devo and The Talking Heads with a dash of the guitar nooding of a band like the Foals. The song "Candybar" makes me want to slap a clown across the face with a white glove. Highly recommended! ENjO!

Riding the line between Battles' proggy electro jams and Vampire Weekend’s tropical pop, Brooklyn duo Tanlines started as a remix project by Eric Emm (Don Caballero, Storm & Stress, Brothers) and Jesse Cohen (Professor Murder) that involved friends singing over their music. It evolved quickly into a band, with Emm taking the frontman role and singing for the majority of their debut EP, Settings, which was released in March of 2010 on True Panther. After returning from a European tour supporting the record, the duo found that the building that housed their home studio had been sold, which lent the sessions for their first album a poignant gravity and the music reflected the displacement and subsequent maturation of the band. The resulting Mixed Emotions was mixed by Jimmy Douglass (Timbaland, Roxy Music, Aaliyah) and released in early 2012 on True Panther. - iTunes Bio

Getting really excited to hear their new album. "Stay Blue" is the 2nd song to be released off Bleed, Bleed, Bleed, the first being "Marie Marie". This song feels a lot less detached than some of their other tunes. I really like the new direction. ENjO!
Their third album Bleed, Bleed, Bleed will be out March 20, 2012.

I seriously can't wait to snowboard to this new song by Thieves Like Us!!! It just has all the right elements to put me in a better mood. You know...catchy distorted bass line, handclaps and just enough apathy to not be snobby. Another blog described their sginature sound as, "detached aloofness". I thought this wolf howl apocalypse collage fit this song perfectly. ENjO!
