BLACKBIRD BLACKBIRD - "WAIKIKI"

A lot of people tend to write off Chillwave music, but by now I am pretty sick of the term. It seems to instantly define a song as being sub par. There are a lot of "chillwave" bands making crappy music (just take an endless stroll through bandcamp) but Blackbird Blackbird is not one of them. Even with amazing songs like "Aura", "Hawaii" and "The Outside" (most featured on old blogmail/KYFR mixes) I think "Waikiki" has become my new favorite Blackbird Blackbird song. If this is any indication of things to come from his new Ep Boracay Planet that will be out later this year, I think he will make people take "chillwave" more seriously. ENjO!

Young Heel makes experimental madrugada pop music. Brooklyn, NY. They could also be grouped into the Nü RnB movement but with more of a Chillwave influence.
