Thoughts: Dude York, Pt. 1, is a study in subtle contrasts. It starts effortlessly, with the ease of pulling on a sweater Saturday morning. Then, with the introduction of the drum beat, the song starts to take definite shape. The sound fluctuates between the feeling of a brisk fall morning and (around minute 2) a summery beach bonfire. And who, who, who puts in that kind of truly epic back-end build? The Joys of Sleeping, that’s who. Can't wait to hear part 2. - Valerie
